Criteria for Membership

CAPM&R's membership categories are as follows: Active, Resident, Medical Student, Associate, Corresponding, and Retired.

Advantages to membership include such benefits as access to contact information for other members, reduced registration fees for the Annual Scientific Meeting, reduced application fees for MOC Section 1 reviews, as well as other resources.

Active Members

Specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation certified by the Royal College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or the College des medecins du Quebec may become active members.

Resident Members

Residents-in-training in approved Canadian residency programs in physical medicine and rehabilitation may apply for Resident Membership.

Medical Student Members

Medical students interested in physical medicine and rehabilitation may join as Medical Student Members.

Associate Members

Physicians qualified to practice in Canada who are not certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation but have a significant clinical or research involvement in PM&R may apply for Associate Membership. This may include specialists in rheumatology, neurosciences, pediatrics, orthopedics as well as physicians employed by Workers' Compensation Boards and family physicians.

Corresponding Members

Specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation residing outside Canada may join as Corresponding Members.

Retired Members
